ACD Labs

Techniques: PHP, MySQL, CSS, Javascript, jQuery

I was hired during the summer of 2009 to make the site for ACD/Labs from the ground up. They wanted the site to be dynamic and read from a database, instead of the state website they had before. I created a backend CMS for them to manage the website. Design made by an ACD/Labs employee.

TLL Stats

Techniques: PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

The old design of the TLL Stats site always bothered me. It was more just thrown together so I could get the site up faster. I always wanted to change the design and add new features for users. I wanted them to be able to update their own profile page as well as be able to comment on game summaries and other profile pages. I redesigned the site and added all these new features during the beginning of 2009. The site took about a month in total to make, luckily I was able to port over a few of the pages and just edit the look of them. The entire site is XHTML Strict and CSS Valid.

Dirty Thirty

Techniques: PHP/CSS/JS

I made this site in a week for a scavenger hunt that was being run in Toronto for 4 people's 30th Birthdays. They saw my World Series Of Euchre site, and really loved the general concept of having teams sign up, posting smack talk, etc. It was really fun to make, and it became quite a hit with the contestants of the scavenger hunt.

World Series Of Euchre

Techniques: PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

During Christmas of 2008 a few people I know were talking about a Euchre tournament they run each year (2nd year running at least). They were talking about how it would be great if they had a website to register everyone and help organize it all. I joked that I could make it pretty quickly if I wanted to as it wasn't that much work.

They suggested a "Smack Talk" section since they said their Facebook event page last year was completely filled with it all the way up to the tournament day. I then set out to make the page and was able to build it completely from scratch in a total of 3 days. It was a fun experience using all the stuff I've learned from different languages and put them all together in PHP.

TLL Stats - Old Layout

Techniques: PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Over Christmas of 2007 I wanted to expand my knowledge of PHP and I felt the best way to do it was to also help out the lacrosse league I play in as well. The league used to keep a stats page up showing the top five for each major category. It was manually updated each week in just plain HTML and the tables were just edited to update if there were any new users. It would usually take the full week to get updated as each game would have to manually be done, then each persons stats had to be edited manually too.

I created this site to make it much easier to update, and for all players to be able to see their stats and progress.
